About Us

We are Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Wives, Husbands, and Friends of a
non-violent/non-serious third striker.

Many of us voted for the "Three Strikes You're Out" law in 1994.  We believed the
law was meant to keep murders, rapist, pedophiles, and other violent or serious felons
off the street.

In 1994 we had loved ones in prison with
two strikes against them already! We still
voted for the "Three Strikes You're Out" law.  We believed what the proponents were
telling us.

Many of us turned our loved ones in at one time or another for non-violent and
non-serious crimes. We thought we were demonstrating "tough love".  Not
condemning them to
life in prison!

Most had drug problems and drug related crimes that did not harm or injure anyone
but themselves.  That is if you don't count the heartache we have been through.

The majority of these
non-violent/non-serious third strikers were caught in the net of
public panic and political gamesmanship.  The "Three Strikes You're Out" law was
presented to the public as a way to remove the serious and violent from our streets.

What
they did not tell us, in all their advertisements, was that  our sons and
daughters, most with drug addictions, would be sentenced to a minimum of
twenty-five to life also!  A sentence that is often much less then a second degree
murder is given.

It is time to correct this
cruel and unjust sentencing law to what we thought we were
voting for in 1994, at the very least!

Please help us get the Three Strikes Reform Act of 2008 on the ballot.  We need help
collecting signatures and financial support.

Thank you,
